About Us
These terms apply to work carried out by The Surface Artists, by CG Cambridge Ltd, trading as Surface Artists, registered in England and Wales, company number 15577570, registered office 17a High Street, Histon, Cambridge, CB24 9JD. Contact: info@surfaceartists.co.uk, 0800 002 5144.
Quotes
Quotes are free. A quote based on photos is given in good faith on what the photos show. If the damage turns out to be different when we see it in person, we'll tell you and confirm any change in price before carrying on. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
Accepting A Quote
A contract is formed when you accept our quote in writing, including by email or WhatsApp.
Deposits And Payment
We do not take a deposit for standard repairs. Payment is due in full on completion, once you have inspected the work. For larger or commercial jobs, we may agree a deposit in writing before work starts. We accept bank transfer. Commercial accounts are invoiced, and payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Your Right To Cancel (Homeowners)
If you are a consumer and you accept our quote by phone, online or at your home, you have 14 days from the date you accept it to cancel without giving a reason. To cancel, tell us by phone or by email to info@surfaceartists.co.uk. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days, you must pay for the work done up to the point you tell us you are cancelling. This does not apply to business customers.
Cancelling Or Rearranging A Booked Visit
Please give us at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or move an appointment. If you give less notice, or we cannot get access to carry out the work, we may charge a call-out fee. We will tell you the amount when you book.
Access And Preparation
You agree to give us safe access to the area being repaired and to clear the area where reasonably possible. On construction sites, we work under the site's rules and the main contractor's induction requirements.
Results And Colour Matching
We colour-match every repair by hand to blend with the original surface. Natural materials, older surfaces and heavily patterned finishes vary, so a repair may not be completely invisible in every light. We'll explain what result to expect before we start.
Quality Of Work
We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Liability
We carry public liability insurance. We're not responsible for damage caused by existing faults, by the original installation, or by misuse after the repair. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with any work, tell us within 14 days at info@surfaceartists.co.uk and we'll come back to put it right where the problem is with our work.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
